"For as in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them." Romans 12:4-6
Members of Pastoral Council together with the Pastor and Parish Staff are responsible for strategic planning and the advancement of parish life. They address the parish goals and concerns, maintain a broad, holistic perspective of the Parish, focus on those areas which are most important to continuing growth in parish life, and in the personal faith life of our parishioners and plan programs to reach these goals. The Administrative Council is responsible for all fiscal matters of the parish such as fundraising, budgeting, financial reporting, stewardship, and monitoring expenditures, and directs the Bishop's Annual Appeal. The Administrative Council serves Canonically as the Finance Council. It also assists the Pastor and his Administrative Assistant in the material administration of the Parish by advising and assisting with the maintenance and disposition of parish property. Pope John XXIII Parish is a member of the East Columbus Vicariate Pastoral Council. This Vicariate in the Diocese of Columbus is comprised of Christ The King, Holy Spirit, Our lady of the Miraculous Medal, St. Catharine, St. Phillip the Apostle, St Matthew, St Elizabeth Seton, St. Pius X and our own Pope John XIII parishes. The Pastor from each parish along with lay representatives meet to exchange items of common interest and and plan for Vicariate projects.. Our lay representatives for the 2006/2007 year are Teresa Iannaggi, Al/Larry Hrytzik and Jeanne Paulus.
