"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son Jesus cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:7
YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS JUNIOR HIGH
ACTIVITIES We will be visiting
other parishes for many of our High School activities this year. If you can not
make all of them, just attend the ones that are of interest to you. We will
start by going to St. .Francis DeSales in Newark on November 9, 2008.The topic
is "The Power of the Eucharist". We will join other youth of the Diocese. We
will leave the church at 3:30 pm. Permission slip required by November 6,
2008. On Wednesday November 12, 2008 we will be visiting Seton Parish to
hear Chris Padgett. He is a Catholic comic, singer and lay minister who will
have you laughing while learning more about your faith. We will leave the
church at 5:30 pm. Permission slip required by
November 9.
The focus of the Youth Group Ministries is on guiding our youth as they walk the path to spirituality, with emphasis on modeling the love and compassion demonstrated by Jesus Christ in the Gospel. The ultimate outcome will be a closer relationship with God through a deeper understanding of the Catholic Faith. The Youth Group is comprised of teen parishioners attending high school. We have also recently established a Junior High Youth Ministry for 7th and 8th graders. Teens and preteens are given the opportunities of Faith renewal, through bible studies and faith sharing; Fellowship, in involvement in various parish, civic and ecumenical projects; Fun, in participating in a variety of social activities.
COME JOIN US FOR FAITH, FELLOWSHIP AND FUN! For more information, call Crystal Adams. Crystal's home phone number can be found in the Parish Directory or by contacting the parish office.
PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDRENProtecting God’s Children is a mandatory program for all who work or volunteer with children in our diocese. Parents and other interested parishioners are invited and encouraged to attend as well. For any questions regarding the program please stop in the Parish Office and see Regina for an instruction sheet or call her at 614-920-1563. You may also visit the web site (www.virtus.org) for additional information. Also, a requirement of the diocese is that all individuals working with children must have a background check. Those needing this done, please contact Regina in the Parish Office (614-920-1563) to make the arrangements.
